Corinthian Helmet

I made this for a hat making intensive class at school.

Because of my dislike of seams, I proposed to put two head forms together so that I could stretch the foss shape over them both so that the cheek pieces wouldn't have a seam in the middle. Although I used head blocks sized to fit my own head, because of the cheek guards being so close to the face, it would fit someone with a smaller head better. I understand better now why Corinthian helmets bulge at the top as compared to the cheek pieces.

The ridges are made of piping cord. I covered the whole thing in layers of glue, then some dark blue paint and then silver metallic paint.
